Jonathan Stones, CEO of John Barkers said, 'Both firms have a focus of putting their clients’ welfare at the heart of the business and ensuring that the best outcome for them can be achieved. Having a team of over 100 specialist lawyers and support staff across 5 sites will really enhance our ability to support the region in its legal requirements. We can see that further consolidation of the legal market is likely and our model allows this to be done quickly for other businesses that share our vision.'

Rodger Price, Managing Director of Symes Bains Broomer, echoed this sentiment saying 'John Barkers Solicitors resonated with our core values of innovation and client-centric practices, making this merger a logical step in our growth. Given that each firm has slightly different specialisms the clients of both firms benefit by being able to access advice in a diverse range of areas they will find in their personal and business life.'

Group Chairman Howard Field explained his vision for the Group, “Creating an environment where we develop great lawyers and support them in careers that will serve our diverse community has become key for both firm’s success. Both have an established reputation for providing quality legal services for clients in their personal and business life when it really matters and a commitment to Legal Aid work where it is available. As we grow, these core values can be offered to more people and a greater range of services is made possible. It’s very exciting.”

The Humber Legal Group now has offices in Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Goole and Louth (with a meeting room in Mablethorpe), but serves clients all over England and Wales.
